Access Specialist (FAS) provides coverage to open/vacant
territories throughout the nation by providing expertise on
coverage and common access and reimbursement challenges affecting
AbbVie products. The National FAS responsibilities include
educating on the access and reimbursement support tools available
from AbbVie, advising HCPs on patient prescription status and
program eligibility, and educating HCP offices on payer processes
and procedures. In addition, the National FAS may collaborate with
business partners from market access, marketing, training, AbbVie
Access Support, BTS, and other cross-functional areas to increase
communication and collaboration; consistently looking for ways to
provide support and education to the broader field access team
while fostering team culture and brand specific vision and values.

experience.Responsibilities:
- Provide coverage for open territories virtually and/or face to
face when required throughout the nation when needed to minimize
support disruption to educate HCPs on patient support programs,
including access and reimbursement support tools and services.
- Compliantly partner with market access and sales colleagues to
educate on product-specific acquisition and access options and
provide local expertise regarding national/regional payor policies
to educate providers on payer issues, coding changes, and
appropriate claims submission and prior authorization
processes.
- Collaborate with business partners to increase communication
and collaborate cross-functionally to meet business
objectives.
- Report back payer trends related for approved products to
Patient Services and Market Access account management teams.
- Remain current on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy
activities.
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly build relationships and
collaboration with internal/external key stakeholders, lead without
authority, manage project/initiatives with minimal direction or
supervision with attention to details.
- National FAS may take on additional responsibilities, projects,
and initiatives to support the greater Field Access Specialist team
and Senior Managers. These may include but not limited to:
- Support regional national training meetings/calls including
managing schedule, content, and roll out.
- Stay up to date on changes affecting the organization and
ensure consistent, effective communication between cross-functional
colleagues and support implementation strategies based on analytics
received from senior leadership team.
- Serve as a liaison as needed between Field Access Specialist
and cross functional matrix team such as BTS, marketing, Market
Access, and Training.QualificationsRequired:
- 5 or more years of industry experience in access and
reimbursement including Market Access, Payer Account Management,
and/or Access and Reimbursement, and territory/account
management.
- 2 or more years of Field Access Specialist experience with
strong track record of high performance and peer leadership.
- Extensive experience educating others on policy/payer
processes, systems and requirement for coverage, coding and payment
and other access related situations for specialty/retail
medicines.
- Excellent communication (oral, written, and presentation) and
interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills, attention to detail,
analytical capability, execution, and follow-through.
- Demonstrated understanding of the rules, regulations and risks
associated with provision of reimbursement support services.
- Strong understanding and ability to communicate technical
elements of coding and billing requirements at the National and
Regional level across all settings of care including Medicare Parts
A, B, C and D or Medicare and associated reimbursement
dynamic.
- Strong understanding of drug acquisition and dispensing
specialty biologics (Buy and Bill, Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty
Distributors, etc.) and/or retail space.
- Strong understanding of access and reimbursement support
service centers and how to effectively interact in a compliant
fashion.
- Be able to travel nationally when required.
- Bachelor's degree.
