Job Description:

Modis is currently seeking a Network Design & Planning Engineer for an exciting contract / contract to hire job opportunity with our commercial banking customer, located in the Western Chicago suburbs of Naperville / Lisle.
 
This Network Design & Planning Engineer will be working on an Enterprise Network Team and will be responsible for conducting network assessments, creating network designs, and pricing out the solutions for implementation.
 
This individual will need to have a thorough understanding of enterprise voice and data networks, with an emphasis on high level network designs, data flows and disaster recovery.  While this starts off as a contract role, there is a high likelihood of longer-term contract extension as well as the possibility for full-time employee conversion in 2015-2016!
 
The Network Design & Planning Engineer responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and communication with the network engineering team to capture and assess the network requirements
- Conducting a thorough assessment of the current and future-state network capabilities
- Costing out all network projects - pricing out solutions and conducting cost-benefit analysis for all new or upgraded network hardware, and software
- Working with Microsoft Visio and CAD/CADD tools to create network designs.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
 
- Required Associate’s Degree in an IT related field.
- Current CCDA or CCDP Certifications are highly preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years in enterprise network engineering.
- Demonstrated use of tools like Visio and other CADD tools to create high level requirements documents (HLRD), Network Diagrams and data flow charts.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Routers & Switches
- 2-3+ years’ experience with Firewalls -  Juniper Netscreen SSG/SRX is preferred
